Cool as heck content, thanks for opening my mind up to this level of potential science. It would make sense if this all ends up true.

Amazing insight, thanks.

Woah, that is super interesting. Especially interesting they are still fighting to keep things classified after 40-50 years.

This actually happened? Pretty impressive

Typically I'm used to seeing news stories about tech from this year, 1964 is an interesting change of pace.

The “Real court documents, not a rant.” is the perfect closer and I applaud the inclusion...solid gold.

Biological weapons have massive, unpredictable, and potentially uncontrollable consequences. They may produce global epidemics and impair the health of future generations.

The United States will similarly renounce the use of all other methods of bacteriological/biological warfare, for example, incapacitating agents. The United States bacteriological/biological programs will be confined to research and development for defensive purposes, immunization, safety, and field detection measures.

In National Security Decision Memoranda 35 and 44 you directed that all stockpiles of biological agents and munitions be destroyed and that the biological research program of the Department of Defense be confined to defensive purposes only. A detailed plan for the destruction of all biological agents, toxins and associated weapons has been prepared.

This transcription covers Nixon's central public reasoning and the memorandum's operative directive, along with a follow-up memo confirming the actual destruction plan for the existing stockpile. The complete Foreign Relations of the United States documentary record includes the full internal policy review process leading to the decision.
